A Viking age money ring, traditionally hand forged in sterling silver with punch decoration.
These bracelets were a form of wearable wealth and used in trade as a form of currency, often cut into pieces, hence the name 'hacksilver'. Examples are found in silver hoards all across northern Europe.
This bracelet is adjustable, and can be bent to fit using careful even pressure. Measures 20cm around, and is 7mm wide at the center, tapering to 4mm. Weighs approximately 35 grams.
Absolutely gorgeous bracelet, very heavy and strong. In fact I'm not strong enough to adjust it! 2

Really beautiful and my wife is thrilled. We are going to have to get a local jeweler to resize the bracelet slightly though, as the opening is very narrow.
